Since 1994, Charlotte County has used the 1% local option sales tax to fund projects that enhance our quality of life, invest in our infrastructure and improve public safety. The current local option sales tax was extended with a referendum on the ballot at the regular election on Nov. 4, 2014. The voters decided to extend the 1% local option sales tax for six years.
These projects are being funded by the 1% local option sales tax as it comes in for 6 years, from 2015 until 2020:
